Testimonials

"Before working out at Ally Fitness, I was lazy, unmotivated and tired all the time. I have been training with Ally for a little over 3 months now and have lost 11.75 inches!! I see my body shrinking and toning. I am now able to do things I couldn't do 3 months ago. If you are looking for someone who will motivate you and give you results, then Ally is your girl."  Chrissy Binkley, Hermitage, TN

"From the very first class at AllyFitness, I knew I was doing something good for myself.  Making the commitment and showing up was the beginning of a much needed change in my life.  It was positive and motivating.

Before working with Ally, I have always struggled with weight but managed to maintain, never being more than about 15 lbs overweight.  That number had doubled recently.  The pounds had crept on with a job change and decreased physical activity.  I was fairly frustrated with my appearance and lack of motivation.  I refused to have my picture made and dreaded trying on clothes.  I know my self esteem was affected.

Ally was upbeat and never missed an opportunity to point out the good things and to compliment me.  It is amazing how fast the body responds to exercise and a better diet.

Ally helps me stay motivated.  The work outs are never the same, so you don’t get bored.  She also provides a food and diet guide for weight loss. The biggest shift for me was the mindset.  Making the commitment and then making it work.  I work full time downtown.  I first came to the 5 p.m. classes but soon discovered that getting away from work on time and unpredictable afternoon traffic was a problem.  I now go to the 6:30 a.m. classes, and absolutely love getting up early starting the day working out with Ally and friends.  I resisted getting up any earlier than necessary for years and now it is part of my lifestyle.

I would tell anyone if they want to make a life style change and they are willing to make the commitment and show up, Ally will provide the way to achieve their goals and support them all the way.

Throughout my life I had always been disciplined enough to never get more than 10 or 15 lbs overweight before doing something about it.  For whatever reason, that discipline and determination was missing.  Ally Fitness helped me get it back!  I am so happy and plan to continue working with Ally for as long as possible." - Judy Mikesell, Hermitage, TN

“Mike & I are still enjoying our workouts with Allyson’s oversight and support.  Besides working out 6 days a week, our goal this year is to hike the 72 miles of the Appalachian Trail (AT) in the Smoky Mountains.  This Spring we hiked the first section of 32 miles from Clingman’s Dome to Fontana Dam in 3 days.  We are used to hiking 8 to 14 miles in a day but not with a 25 pound backpack and not with the rugged terrain as it was on the AT.  I will say it was one of the hardest hikes we have done.  BUT, we finished it and I must say that I was able to because of the things Allyson taught me that are so important during a workout – breathing and stretching.   We are going to finish the remaining 40 miles this Fall and the day we come off the trail will be my 60th birthday!  Thanks Allyson for your continued support.  I could never have done this before I knew you!”  -Mike and Cindy Corn, Brentwood, TN

“I decided to contact a personal trainer because I've been yo yo dieting for years and wanted a life style change. I wanted to eat healthier and be stronger. I really did not expect a personal trainer to be affordable or one that would work with my schedule. I live about 45 minutes from Allyson's studio, but she created a plan just for me. We spoke once per week about my food diary and met once per month to evaluate my workout and talk about any challenges. She made me accountable through te xts and phone calls. This is EXACTLY what I wanted. I lost 5.5 inches the first month and lost 7lbs. I feel incredible and am on day 45 without a coke, which I have not done in over 10 years. It was more than a workout plan...it is changing my life. THANKS ALLY!” -Danielle Underwood, Watertown, TN

“I wanted to get serious about getting back in shape at age 50. Wasn't looking to lose weight, just tone up in places, and knew I'd need more than self-motivation to get me going. Allyson has been the perfect solution! I lost 5 inches after the first month! She makes it fun and different every class. You owe it to yourself to give Ally Fitness a try! You won’t be disappointed!”  Gwen Glascock, Hermitage TN

“I started Allyson’s fitness program on 1/28/11- – She provided a workout program that included jumping jacks, push-ups, sit-ups and other activities as well as nutritional coaching. The weekly accountability she provided through her monthly coaching program enabled me to drop down 1 dress size and lose 5.7 inches by 3/7/2011. I owe it all to changing my eating habits and exercising, which I was able to do with the guidance, support and accountability Allyson provided. Allyson is great! Allyson was my inspiration to get rid of my unwanted “love handles.”  -Angela Smith, Carthage TN

“After receiving results from my first bone density test showing some osteopenia in spite of taking calcium and vitamin D daily, my doctor recommended “weight-bearing” exercise to help reduce the possibility of osteoporosis.  I am usually most active during spring and summer when I can enjoy my favorite activities of golf, walking and biking on the green ways. Which is another way of saying I was a couch potato in the winter months.  I met Ally at a chamber event and then won 2 free personal training sessions from her!  Once Sharon challenged me to meet her at 6:30 a.m. to work out with Ally on M-W-F mornings, it was time to get serious.  I have been working out with Ally in the morning sessions for four months.  I am more lean, have more energy and my clothes are getting really loose.  I feel better and, in spite of some high stress situations recently, I just feel happier – love those endorphines!! Working out with Ally in a small group setting is a lot like having a private personal training session.  She always adjusts the workout to the abilities of the various attendees and pushes us just enough to get our very best (let’s do 2 more!).  The workouts are different every time so even though we work out all the muscle groups each session it is not the same boring routine over and over.  Try it for a month, like I did, and you will like the change in how you look and feel!” -Lisa B. Dreher, CPA, CFP®

“IT”S WORKING.”  I am 10 lbs. and several inches smaller since starting your classes.  Additionally, I am more limber and have more range of motion and flexibility.  Needless to say, I am happy with my progress in just over a month.  I feel like my entire body gets a work out each week in your classes.  I have more energy and am accomplishing more each day.  I actually look forward to getting up early to attend your 6:30 Monday and Friday training sessions!!!!!  Looking forward to more progress in the months to come and thanks for getting me jump started! -Sharon Kipp, Realtor, Nashville, TN

“I had gained five pounds in as many months after the holidays, and decided it was time to get rid of my “lazy” weight–weight gained from not exercising and sloppy eating habits.  When I started working with Allyson in a Corporate Fit challenge, I weighed 135 and my goal weight was between 120 -125 lbs.  I started losing weight immediately just by eating from the meal choices in my recommended meal booklet.  Keeping a diary of what I ate and how much I exercised really kept me on schedule (and honest).  I was never hungry, stopped drinking diet soda, and really didn’t crave sweets since I was able to eat fruit.  I also found that when I was sweating, it wasn’t as salty due to drinking more water and eating a lot less salt.  The swelling I often had in my hands after running went away.  At the end of six weeks, I had lost 8% of my body weight and was within my goal weight.  It has been around two months now, and I am still losing weight; I am close to my final goal weight of 120.  I still do not drink diet soda, and I had been drinking one to two a day before beginning the challenge.  I am still eating fruit, less starch, and drinking plenty of water. I’m also eating more yogurt than ever before–I never liked it!” -Carol Topping, Nashville, TN

“This has been a great experience for me. I spend two weeks out of each month traveling, which can be a challenge for even the most fit individual. The program focuses on how to make better meal choices that can easily become part of a lifestyle change. The program also incorporates a fitness plan that fits each participant’s capabilities, schedule and activity preferences. This helps to make the workouts something to look forward to rather than dread.  The group aspect of the program makes you feel accountable not only to yourself but also to your team members.” -Susan Thrasher, Nashville, TN

“We have been working with Allyson for over two years.   We enjoy her workout routines so much that we still look forward to getting up early and exercising.  One thing (of many) that she has helped us with is knowing what we can do and what our strengths and weaknesses are. Her routines for us have been so varied that for the first time we made up our own workout routine (with Allyson’s oversight) with our favorite exercises.  There are so many varied routines that Allyson has provided us that I think we could probably figure out a few more routines.  We don’t need Allyson every week now, but we know she is there supporting us in the knowledge that she has given us and the moral support she provides.  She is still the best trainer we know.” -Cindy and Mike Corn, Brentwood, TN
